Well-Woman Exams
A well-woman exam is a routine preventive visit focused on your overall health and wellness. During your visit, your provider reviews your health history, talks through any concerns you have, and recommends age-appropriate screenings and preventive care. These visits also give you time to ask questions about changes in your health and discuss which screenings or preventive services make sense for you. Free Screening Through the Sage Program
The Sage Screening Program, sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Health, helps eligible patients access free breast and cervical cancer screening. Eligibility depends on current program requirements, which may include age, income, and insurance status. Through Sage, qualifying patients can receive:
- Free mammograms for women ages 40 and older (breast cancer screening)
- Free Pap tests, including HPV testing, for women ages 21 to 64 (cervical cancer screening)
If a screening result is abnormal, Sage can help eligible patients access appropriate follow-up services and resources. Through the related SagePlus program, women ages 40 to 64 can access heart health screening for glucose and cholesterol, and colonoscopy screening is available for qualifying patients.
