Gap in Care

A “gap in care” is created when the care provided to a patient is inconsistent with the recommended best practices in healthcare. Annually, gaps in care cost the U.S. healthcare system a staggering amount of time and money. When left unaddressed, gaps in care squander healthcare resources, exacerbate chronic conditions and preventable diseases, and increase the workload on already overburdened healthcare systems.
Care gaps identify missing recommended preventive care services so that you may address them when your patient comes in for an office visit.
Ask at all visits if there are health recommendations that you have skipped. Odam Medical Group uses its Electronic Health Records system and data analytic to identify patients with gaps in care to reduce risk.
