DOT CDL License Medical Exam.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination is conducted by a licensed “medical examiner” listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. The purpose of a DOT physical is to make sure that people who are driving commercial motor vehicles are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires them for the safety of the public and other uses of our roads. Individuals and companies can sign up with up to complete these exams in the right way. Walkin DOT exams are greatly welcome if you have your previous card or are new to these requirements.

Who Needs a DOT Exam.

If you: Drive a vehicle on the interstate with a gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight rating, or gross combination weight of over 10,000 pounds.
Drive a vehicle designed to carry more than 15 people.
Carry hazardous material in your vehicle that requires your vehicle to have a placard.
Are paid to drive a vehicle designed to carry more than 8 people.
